Your Journey Towards Optimal Health And Vitality Awaits..

Meet Dr Harriet Baayeh, NMD

My name is Dr Harriet Baayeh and I am a board certified Naturopathic Physician. My true passion lies in helping people achieve wellness in all areas of their lives! When I decided to switch from a conventional medical path and pursue a Naturopathic one, most people thought I had lost my mind. But from my clinical experience, I have witnessed patients heal from illnesses that conventional medicine couldn’t cure. Now more than ever, I know I made the right choice!

I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa and from a young age, I had a huge interest in medicine. I moved to the US to pursue my undergraduate education and earned a Cum Laude BS in Biological science with an emphasis in clinical psychology from Bryn Athyn College. My interest in medicine grew even more after my own health began to fail and at one point, I was on 8 prescription medications. Long story short, I decided to go a different path and started changing my relationship with food and lifestyle and by the end of the summer I was off all my medications! That’s when I knew I wanted to be a different kind of healer. I completed my medical training from the Southwest College Of Naturopathic Medicine where I received the outstanding student award. I received extensive education and training in the areas of nutrition, botanical herbs, acupuncture, homeopathy remedies, hydrotherapy and mind-body medicine and utilize these modalities in my practice.

My goal is to empower my patients while guiding them to live their healthiest life possible. I take a “whole-person” approach in my treatment instead of focusing on symptoms and my life’s purpose is to be an example and educator for healthful living, naturally. As a primary care physician, I work with adults and children, men and women in my full time practice. I offer in office visits and also video conferencing through Zoom with patients world-wide. In my spare time, I love being with family and friends, spending time outdoors, running, hiking and meditating

naturopathic medicine

WHAT IS NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE?

The foundation of Naturopathic medicine is based on the philosophy that the body has an innate, natural ability to heal itself and we can use the healing properties in nature to correct imbalances and support this healing process. Guided by the 6 principles explained below, a naturopathic physician strives to support their patients towards optimal wellness by focusing on disease prevention and active participation.

As a requirement for their medical school training, NMDs must have attained the appropriate bachelor’s degree and taken all the prerequisite medical school courses, similar to conventional medical schools.

NDs are trained as primary care physicians with specializations available post-graduation. We order labs, perform physical exams, diagnose and treat disease. They must continue their medical education post-graduation to remain licensed. In Arizona, NDs are required to complete 30 hours of continuing medical education a year, with 10 hours of those being in pharmacology (safe drug prescribing).

The following six principles guide the therapeutic methods and modalities of Naturopathic medicine:

#1: FIRST DO NO HARM

#2: THE HEALING POWER OF NATURE

#3: DISCIVER AND TREAT THE ROOT CAUSE

#4: TREAT THE WHOLE PERSON

#5: THE PHYSICIAN IS A TEACHER

#6: PREVENTION IS THE BEST CURE

Our wellness philosophy

Welcome To Our Clinic.

We truly believe everyone deserves proper healthcare and as your wellness ally, we are committed and dedicated to helping you live a better quality of life through natural healing. Instead of just treating symptoms, we conduct a diligent search to find the root cause of the problem using both standard and integrative testing, thereby treating the whole person. We believe health is more than just the absence of disease but a state of oneness to help you regain confidence so that you not only look good but feel even better. This is our goal for every patient.

Staying true to the 6 principles of naturopathic medicine, we have countless evidence that healing is possible. Not only do we guide our patients to wellness but also provide tools and resources to help them escape from the bondage of an unhealthy body. We understand information about natural healing has become very complicated and we are here to help you make sense of it all and lend nonjudgmental support. Are you ready to take this journey? If so, we are ready to take the ride with you.

Your Healing, Our priority

"IT IS NO COINCIDENCE THAT FOUR OF THE SIX LETTERS

IN HEALTH ARE “HEAL”

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at 602- 753-8607 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Naturopathic medicine is right for everyone!

The first visit is an hour and half (90 minutes) and during this time, we discuss your entire medical history and gather relevant information. We evaluate whatever labs brought in and order more testing if needed. In addition, we do a detailed head to toe physical exam. Your visit will be with Dr Baayeh, not with a nurse, or physician assistant. You will be able to ask whatever questions you have. The second visit is an hour and it is during this visit that we put together a personalized treatment plan based on labs and other findings. Dr Baayeh typically does not prescribe anything or make recommendations during the first visit unless absolutely needed.

Naturopathic modalities benefits virtually every illness, symptoms and diagnosis. Because of our approach of treating the person, not just the illness, and all the many treatment therapies available to us, patients with a wide variety of symptoms notice improvements from naturopathic care.

YES! Dr Baayeh uses both standardized and alternative testing to get to the root cause of health issues. Because she is a licensed medical practitioner, she is able to order labs and does so with almost every patient.

Naturopathic physicians can serve in either of two roles:

  • Your primary medical provider, much like a family doctor or internist; or
  • An expert consultant in natural medicine working alongside your primary medical provider and the other doctors who treat you.

Absolutely! Dr Baayeh offer health consultation and tele-health services to patients and clients worldwide! Click ABOVE to get started.

At this time, Dr Baayeh is unable to accept insurance for patient visits. Most insurance companies will cover blood work ordered by Dr Baayeh. I do not want insurance standards, policies and reimbursement fees to dictate my recommendations and guidance for clients. I provide a personalized approach for your unique health situation, not swayed by the insurance decisions that often stand in the way of a conventional medicine approach. In some states, insurance companies will cover the cost of naturopathic care and we provide super-bills/receipts for insurance reimbursement. The easiest way to determine what aspects of your visit will be covered by your plan is to contact your insurance provider. Otherwise, all major credit cards are accepted.

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards including Health Savings Accounts (HSA). A deposit is required for all new patient appointments

We should know if the treatment plan in working in the first 2-3 weeks after protocol is given.  For some people it takes a little as a few days to 1 week and for others as much as 4 weeks to feel a difference.  In acute cases, you should begin to feel better very quickly.
